ALLEN UNIVERSITY Position Description Title: Associate Director of Sponsored Programs (and IA Budget Manager) The Incumbent will be responsible for participation in all facets of management of externally funded programs and projects. A particular duty includes ensuring that institutional standards and practices are adhered to when spending externally funded resources, with documentation as required by the grant-maker. The incumbent will be the principal interlocutor with Human Resources relative to time-and-effort reporting. Simultaneously, the incumbent will execute requisitions for the Division of Institutional Advancement, while monitoring the goodness-of-fit for expenditures and budget balances. The incumbent will report to the A VP for Sponsored Programs/Title III, and work in concert with Human Resources as well as other faculty, staff, and administrators with obligations or responsibilities related to external funding. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Maintain actionable knowledge of the institution's portfolio of externally funded grants and contracts. • Ensure that Fiscal Affairs and Information Technology documentation, systems and protocols are followed in requisitioning and invoicing by Sponsored Programs. • Provide the A VP, Sponsored Programs/Title III with assistance that facilitates regularly scheduled invoicing and drawdowns of earned revenue. • Collaborate with all units and staff within the division to advance the interest of the institution. Required Skills/Experiences: • Experience successfully managing processes and resources at a not-for profit organization. • Mature capability in executing job assignments in the fashion and timeline that define the work at-hand from whatever source. • Evidence of computer-literacy-plus necessary to carry-out assigned duties • Prior experience in dealing with relevant publics and demanding seekers of service. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree, master's preferred • History of responsible employment • Competence in using Apple tools and applications • History of geographic stability.
