Major/Essential Functions

  • Direct oversight of the Promotions and Fan Engagement efforts for assigned sports.
    • Create, implement, and analyze marketing plans for assigned sports.
    • Write and distribute game scripts for assigned sports.
    • Manage the execution of game scripts for assigned sports and serve as the point person for game production.
    • Assist with the development of promotional materials, promotional giveaway items, social media content, and video board content.
    • Coordinate efforts with external operations staff, Red Raider Sports Properties, coaching staffs, the Texas Tech Spirit Program, and the Goin' Band to ensure successful game-day execution and maximize fan engagement opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Red Raider Sports Properties to fulfill revenue-generating sponsored promotions while creating an engaging fan experience.
  • Assist with the creation of advertising content for assigned sports, including emails, social media, in-venue signage, radio, billboards, digital advertising, and other marketing platforms as applicable.
  • Serve as the on-field and on-court promotions assistant at Football and Men’s Basketball games.
  • Coordinate various student outreach initiatives on campus.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of national anthem performers and in-game host talent for assigned sports.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop new marketing ideas.
  • Assist with execution at various Texas Tech Athletics events as needed.
  • Perform other job duties and any other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director of Promotions & Fan Engagement.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sport Management, Communications, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in collegiate athletics marketing, promotions, fan engagement, game presentation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing plans and game-day promotions that enhance attendance and fan engagement.
  • Experience coordinating live event production, including game scripts, sponsorship activations, and in-game entertainment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners, including coaches, sponsors, and campus stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
