The Associate Director, Strategic Communications is a leadership role responsible for shaping how Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting (TAA) is understood globally. This role leads enterprise thought leadership, stewards the evolution of the CCH brand, and partners on executive communications that advance strategic priorities and long-term growth.

Operating at the intersection of research, brand, and executive influence, this leader defines points of view, translates complex industry and technology shifts into clear narratives, and aligns teams across regions around a shared perspective. The ideal candidate is a visionary storyteller-someone who can anticipate what's next, craft a compelling point of view, and mobilize global teams to deliver a unified narrative with impact.

Key Responsibilities

Global Thought Leadership & Research

  • Set and evolve the global thought leadership strategy across AI, agentic automation, cloud transformation, Firm Intelligence, and the future of the profession.
  • Own the Future Ready Accountant global research program, shaping its direction, insights, and global relevance.
  • Define narrative direction for flagship content, including reports, POVs, strategic briefings, and keynote narratives.
  • Build relationships with global industry leaders, analysts, academics, and influencers to extend credibility and influence.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Communications teams across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific to drive alignment and adoption.
  • Ensure content is written and structured for both human audiences and AI-enabled discovery and retrieval.

Brand Strategy & Global Brand Stewardship

  • Act as a strategic steward of the CCH global brand, guiding its evolution, relevance, and long-term equity.
  • Partner with the TAA Brand Manager to shape how brand strategy is articulated and applied globally.
  • Translate business priorities, customer insight, and industry shifts into clear brand narrative direction.
  • Provide senior-level counsel on brand expression across thought leadership, executive platforms, campaigns, and customer-facing experiences.
  • Guide how AI-driven innovation is reflected in the brand narrative, ensuring credibility and consistency.

Executive Communications & Strategic Narrative

  • Serve as a senior writer and thought partner to the VP of Branding & Communications on executive narrative development.
  • Shape high-impact keynote messaging, strategic announcements, internal communications, and external thought leadership.
  • Provide narrative leadership and oversight to writers across the communications team.
  • Apply AI-assisted research and drafting thoughtfully, maintaining strong judgment and quality standards.
  • Ensure executive communications are structured for clarity, influence, and global relevance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic communications, thought leadership, brand strategy, or executive communications.
  • Proven success leading narrative-driven initiatives in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong portfolio of senior-level strategic writing (reports, speeches, narratives, brand storytelling).
  • Fluency using AI to support research, content development, and narrative refinement.
  • Ability to write and structure content for clarity and discoverability in AI-powered environments.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams across regions.

Attributes of the Ideal Candidate

  • Strategic storyteller with a clear point of view
  • Enterprise-minded leader and trusted advisor
  • Strong brand steward with long-term perspective
  • Highly collaborative in matrixed environments
  • Insight-driven and future-focused
  • Executive-ready and credible at senior levels
  • AI-fluent, without losing the human voice
