Talascend is currently seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Asheville, North Carolina.OverviewThis role involves designing and supporting electric utility distribution systems, working both in the field and office environments. The engineer will collaborate with clients, develop work packages, perform engineering calculations, and support construction activities to ensure high-quality project delivery.ResponsibilitiesDevelop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 138kVCoordinate conflicting utilities, assess and develop complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environmentsConduct engineering calculations such as structural analysis, conductor sags, voltage drop, and flickerPrepare permitting documents and support construction activities, including inspections and post-construction reviewsTravel to project sites as needed to perform inspections and field workSupport work permit development, easements, ROW applications, and provide engineering support during constructionConduct root cause analysis of outages and propose mitigation solutionsQualificationsCompleted Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institutionProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to utilize a personal vehicle for field travelWillingness to perform both field and office work, with ability to work outdoors occasionallyStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, or similarExperience with CAD tools, MicroStation, and GISKnowledge of NESC and design standardsBackground Check and Drug Screen may be required.Talascend is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race,religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, orveteran status.#J-18808-Ljbffr
