Associate Ductwork Installation Superintendent
Location: Memphis, TN Pay Range: $39-$44 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 40+ hours per week; overtime may be required
Mechanical Systems Company is looking for an experienced Deputy Ductwork Riding Foreman to provide hands-on leadership for commercial and industrial HVAC sheet metal projects throughout the Memphis area. This position is ideal for a seasoned sheet metal professional who can lead crews, coordinate work across active jobsites, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Role Overview
The Deputy Ductwork Riding Foreman provides field leadership across multiple projects, overseeing sheet metal installation crews, organizing manpower and materials, monitoring workmanship, and working closely with project leadership to keep jobs on track from planning through completion.
What We're Looking For
- At least ten years of ductwork or commercial HVAC sheet metal installation experience
- Previous experience leading or supervising sheet metal crews in the field
- Strong background in commercial and/or industrial construction
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Working knowledge of sheet metal installation practices, equipment, tools, and applicable codes
- Experience planning crew assignments and coordinating manpower across changing project needs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage several jobs, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
- Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Procore or similar construction management software experience is a plus
Physical & Jobsite Requirements
This active field position requires safely navigating commercial and industrial construction sites, performing various physical activities, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and working in changing weather, temperatures, heights, noise, and other typical jobsite conditions.

What You'll Do
- Lead sheet metal mechanics and apprentices working on commercial and industrial projects
- Travel between assigned jobsites to oversee field activities and crew performance
- Set daily priorities and organize manpower based on project schedules and workload
- Review drawings, specifications, blueprints, and other construction documents before and during installation
- Verify ductwork and sheet metal installations meet project requirements and quality expectations
- Maintain a safe working environment and address jobsite safety concerns as they arise
- Coordinate material, equipment, and tool needs to minimize delays and keep crews productive
- Work with project managers and other field leaders to resolve installation and scheduling issues
- Track job progress and communicate field conditions, manpower needs, and potential challenges
- Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure materials are available when needed
- Oversee and evaluate work performed by assigned crews and subcontractors
- Complete required field documentation and provide accurate job updates
- Coach mechanics and apprentices while reinforcing proper installation methods and company expectations
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity without compromising safety or workmanship
- Build positive working relationships with customers, contractors, and other trades on the jobsite
