SUMMARY
Fairbanks Morse Defense is actively seeking Associate Field Service Technicians to support mission-critical equipment across marine and defense environments. This is an excellent opportunity for Diesel Technology graduates, Power Generation students, and U.S. Navy veterans-especially Enginemen (EN)-to apply hands-on skills in a dynamic, travel-based role.

Products may include, but are not limited to, diesel engines, electrical controls, roll-up doors, cranes, elevators, and davits. The AFST shall maintain a professional and positive attitude, perform quality workmanship, and be responsive to customer needs.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements: HS Diploma or GED required and at least one or more of the following:
Knowledge of diesel and spark gas engines, test equipment and basic engine theory preferred
Basic understanding of gas compression and associated hazards preferred
Must be able to read and interpret product line diagrams and blueprints
Basic foundation of pneumatic and/or hydraulic, PLC and electronic controls preferred
High mechanical aptitude
Ability to independently interpret product tech manual to troubleshoot problems
Must be a reliable team player who exhibits a professional demeanor
Proficiency in English language (verbal and written)
Ability to handle stressful situations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Maintain valid driver's license and qualify for company credit card
Travel required up to 75% (domestic and international, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and in emergency situations travel on very short notice). Must hold valid US Passport or be able to obtain one within the first 3 months upon hire.
This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing duties of the above job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. The AFST frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to regularly lift at least 35 pounds.
