Associate Golf Professional

The Club at Savannah Harbor, located in Savannah, GA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Associate Golf Professional! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay:

$50,000-$60,000 annually, based on experience.

Summary:

This position is designed to run the golf shop, ensure guest satisfaction, run member events, and support the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administers all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing. Coordinates with Accounting Departments on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-ins, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as they apply to duplicate charges and overpayment or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
• Initiates and promotes all club golf activities.
• Creates lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists the retail buyer with procurement and merchandise, and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
• Supervises preparations for all golf outings, including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
• Monitors all members scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
• Assists the Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assists in the management of department members that may include, but are not limited to: Starters, Player Assistants, and Guest Services Attendants.
• Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.
• Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
• Implements and maintains excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Certificates/Licenses:

• PGA Member or Level 2 Apprentice or higher preferred.
