Position Title:

Associate Head Track & Field Coach (Horizontal & Vertical Jumps)

Job Description:

The Associate Head Coach reports directly to the Director of XCTF and is responsible for working, as directed, with the Director towards the planning and execution of a successful Track & Field program. The program operates within the mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Head Coach, Athletic Department, and University.

Aligning our program with the Catholic mission of the university is of paramount importance, and the successful candidate will be able to seamlessly work within and support that mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in Program Design

  • Strategic planning, roster size, event group size / management, scholarship allocation, assignment of administrative duties.

  • Annual assessment of all areas of the program.

  • Assist in Budget Management

  • Ensuring proper use of university resources towards the performance, experience, and retention of student-athletes.

  • Apparel, Practice, and Competition Equipment

  • Lead in organizing, ordering, and issuing all of the above

  • Training Design & Implementation of one or more Training Groups

  • Competition Planning & Execution

  • Practice Planning & Execution

  • Recruiting prospective student-athletes

  • Successfully facilitating the enrollment of talented student-athletes, as well as maintaining a roster minimum for specific event areas.

  • Student-athlete Formational Support

  • Encourage and participate in the human formational dimensions of the program.

The tasks will also include some, but not all, of the following:

  • Student-athlete Academic Support
  • Home Competition Management
  • Competition Travel Arrangements
  • Program and facility equipment organization
  • Social Media Management
  • Assist in Alumni Engagement / Fundraising
  • Administrative lead on any of the following: Official Visits, Travel per Diem, CARA hours, and others as assigned.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Successful coaching experience required
  • The Associate Head Coach must adhere to all NCAA, Metro, and University policies with regard to recruiting, eligibility, reporting, and sportsmanship.

Target Salary:

$60,000/year

(Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.)
