Position Overview

We are looking for an Associate Industrial Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the design, development, testing, and evaluation of systems that improve industrial production processes. This includes contributing to efforts in human work factors, quality, inventory control, logistics, material flow, and production coordination.

Working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize the use of resources across operations.

This position reports to the Sr. Production Manager, Simms and is based in Bozeman, MT.

What You’ll Do

Process Improvement

  • Assist in analyzing production processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
  • Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts with guidance

System Design & Implementation

  • Support the design and refinement of manufacturing systems, including labor, materials, and equipment utilization
  • Help implement new or improved production processes and monitor their effectiveness

Data Analysis

  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies
  • Use basic statistical tools and software to support data-driven decision-making

Project Coordination

  • Contribute to projects from planning through execution, supporting timelines and deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain

Quality Support

  • Assist in maintaining and improving quality control processes
  • Monitor production output and support corrective actions when needed

Inventory & Operations Support

  • Support efforts to maintain appropriate inventory levels and material flow
  • Help implement systems to track and improve inventory accuracy

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow and promote compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Participate in safety audits and identify opportunities for improvement

Training & Development

  • Support the rollout of new processes and tools
  • Assist in developing training materials and supporting team education

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field (internships/co-ops welcome)
  • Foundational knowledge of production processes and manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with Excel, MS Office, and basic data analysis tools
  • Exposure to CAD software or process mapping tools is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
  • Interest in continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal)

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
