We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead a cycling class designed for individuals with Parkinsons Disease (PD).

The instructor will motivate participants to achieve specific cadence goals and ensure the proper functioning of their activity monitors and cadence meters. This is part of a multi-site randomized control trial.

Responsibilities

Leading one or more cycling classes three times per week, each lasting up to 45 minutes.

Motivate and encourage participants with PD to reach their cadence goals.

Monitor participants cadence using a cadence meter.

Ensure that participants activity monitors are charged and functioning properly.

Provide clear instructions and modifications to accommodate various fitness levels and abilities.

Foster a positive and supportive class environment.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge on exercise recommendations for individuals with PD.

Communicate effectively with participants, providing feedback and encouragement.

Ensure the safety of all participants during the class.

Minimum Qualifications Preferences

Strong enthusiasm and motivation skills.

Ability to inspire and encourage individuals with PD.

Basic knowledge of exercise science and fitness principles.

Experience working with individuals with PD or other neurological conditions is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage time and schedule classes effectively.

CPR and First Aid certification required.

CITI Training and other research-related certifications are required.
