Immediate need for a talented Associate Investigator with experience in the Chemical Industry. This is a 12+ Months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Wilmington, DE. Please review the job description below. Job ID: 18-47714 Key Responsibilities and Requirements: Prepare materials and spinneret fixtures to test as specified by researcher. Load test resins into vessels for conditioning. Set up equipment parameters to spin, draw & process yarn. Utilize problem-solving skills to adjust spin conditions to enable winding fibers onto packages. Execute experiments, document process conditions, log experimental data and observations, and write test summaries. Establish thorough understanding of chemicals in use, their potential hazards & polymer characteristics extruded on the equipment. Maintain safety standards always; initiate & follow emergency procedures when necessary Associate degree or higher. At least 3 years of Manufacturing or Product Development experience. Basic knowledge of polymers and polymer processing via melt extrusion or injection moldin. Understands and is committed to Client and industry safety standards and ensures high-quality work performance, data and ethics. Demonstrated ability to follow complex process instructions in the use of various equipment along the steps of the fiber production line, to do repetitive tasks and is detailed oriented. Experienced around heavy machinery and handling raw materials with forklifts, polymer vacuum loaders, large pack assemblies and supersacks. Able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, protective eyewear, face shields, etc. Able to stand for long periods of time as ergonomics allow and climb and navigate through multiple floors in the processing area safely. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Math and computer skills / Microsoft Office / Outlook. Demonstrated team player and results-driven. Able to contribute in continuous improvement and process area cleanliness through observation, attention to detail and follow through. Flexible to changing priorities, quick performer under fast-paced environment and demonstrates self-management. Versatile with the ability to learn new skills including material characterization, data processing and other critical tasks with supervision Under minimal guidance, conducts experiments, complex technical operations, or information search/analysis projects and optimizes and interprets methodologies and analysis and suggests experiments or alternative approaches. Recognizes erroneous or unexpected results, interprets and analyzes results and makes suggestions based on their analysis and conclusions. Interprets and analyzes results, makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow. Independently adapts new methodology to current projects.
