Job Summary

We are looking for an Associate Investment Systems Analyst (ISA) to provide solution support of Investment systems and related processes that directly support decision making. As a member of an Agile team, the ISA partners with IT to maintain the production environment according to the business needs, interfacing between Portfolio Managers, Traders, Research Analysts, Operations team, and market data vendors as needed. The Associate ISA applies business knowledge, systems analysis, project management, and business analysis skills to the day-to-day core work as well as initiative work assigned to the team. Associate ISAs grow their contribution to Thrivent by increasing and applying their business and technical knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide front-line process and system support for assigned business staff, systems, and processes.
  • Partner with IT and ISAs to improve the reliability and effectiveness of shared vendor systems.
  • Work with customers to capture business priorities and understand their ever-changing needs.
  • Oversee the successful movement of key data through complex systems and processes.
  • Partner with Investment Operations staff to develop and reinforce system and process standards throughout the investment department.
  • Lead or participate in initiatives that implement new processes and systems or improve existing infrastructure, contributing to requirements, design, planning, and development and execution of test cases.
  • Serve as a liaison to IT for development, implementation, and maintenance of assigned systems.
  • Develop relationships with external peers and vendors to keep current with technology and industry trends.
  • Partner with Reporting Analysts and IT to provide effective reports and develop efficient reporting methods.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in the asset management industry.

Preferred

  • Industry certifications preferred (CFA / CIPM / MBA or in progress preferred).
  • Experience with Bloomberg, PAM, Markit EDM.
  • Experience with SQL, advanced Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience successfully communicating between portfolio managers, operations, IT, and market solution providers.
  • R programming or statistical programming in Python.
  • Ability to navigate legacy VBA code.

Additional Information

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $63,741 - $86,238 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
