ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN

The Orem Public Library is currently hiring for an Associate Librarian in the Collection Services Division. This is a full-time, benefited position working under the direction of a Librarian or the Collection Services Manager.

This position is responsible for leading Circulation In, which is responsible for the check in of materials, initiating contact with patrons regarding lost or damaged items, and other behind-the-scenes aspects of circulation. This position is equally responsible for cataloging materials under the direction of the Cataloging Librarian, including print books, media, and specialty items, and working on cataloging projects.

This position also fulfills a collection development assignment, assists in the success of the division as a whole, manages and trains part-time staff as assigned, and other duties as assigned. Bachelors degree or equivalent level of work experience. Experience working in a library environment. Skills in operating a computer and related technologies as applied to library and information science. Preference will be given to applicants with cataloging, circulation, or supervisory experience. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
