Responsibilities
- Pleadings & Discovery: Managing comprehensive written discovery, and preparing responses to complex discovery requests. Reviewing incoming discovery, meeting and conferring to obtain complete responses, and high-level analysis of when and how to proceed with motion practice to secure necessary evidence.
- Motion Practice: Researching, drafting, and arguing a variety of motions, including discovery, dispositive, in limine motions, in state and federal court.
- Case Management: Overseeing all aspects of litigation, including scheduling, meeting court deadlines, and maintaining meticulous case files.
- Depositions: Preparing for and conducting and defending depositions of dealer technicians, plaintiffs, defendants\' corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
- Client Communication: Maintaining regular, empathetic, and professional communication with clients to manage expectations and provide updates on case progress.
Qualifications Required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited ranked law school.
- Active membership and in good standing with the California Bar.
- 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation preferred, with a strong preference for experience in consumer law or other plaintiff-side litigation.
- Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet demanding deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Intellectual curiosity and self motivation.
- Skilled in teamwork and communications.
Preferred
- Prior experience specifically with Lemon Law (Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss, or other state-specific consumer protection statutes).
- Experience with state and federal court litigation.
- Familiarity with case management software.
