JOB SUMMARY
Kutak Rock LLP seeks an Associate in its Los Angeles office to join its busy litigation and trial practice. This dynamic role is ideal for an attorney with interest in developing their knowledge and skills in environmental toxic tort and commercial litigation while working closely with experienced partners and more senior associates.

QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to handle all aspects of complex civil litigation matters, including client communications, motions, discovery response, court appearances, mediations and negotiating settlements
  • Proficient in taking and defending depositions as well as drafting disposition motions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and balance multiple priorities and deliver timely quality on assignments
  • Ability to be strategic and analytical
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to help shape and expand a growing practice
  • Ability and confidence to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team environment
  • Ability and desire to be mentored directly and to be taught remotely by attorneys in other offices
  • Commitment to interacting directly with and achieving the goals of firm clients
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
  • Must be currently admitted to practice with an active bar license in good standing within the state of California
  • 3+ years of experience in complex civil litigation required with experience in environmental, toxic-tort, commercial, and/or construction matters preferred
 
Position Information
Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $145,000-$175,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus, commensurate with education and experience. 
Work Arrangement: In Office
