The Opportunity:
The Associate Manager, Global Communications is a key contributor on the Communications team, helping drive the development and execution of external communications campaigns on behalf of Mattel.
What Your Impact Will Be:
The Associate Manager, Global Communications plays a critical role in driving global communications programs that advance Mattel's growth objectives and brand strategy. This role emphasizes executional excellence across external communications initiatives, including product launches, executive visibility efforts, and the expansion of Mattel's entertainment offerings.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Communications, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams across the organization, including Mattel Studios, Mattel Creations, Design & Innovation, Investor Relations, Government Affairs, CPX, and others. You will manage day-to-day communications execution while contributing to strategic planning and high-visibility initiatives across the business.
This role requires a proactive communicator who is comfortable navigating a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment and can independently drive projects forward while maintaining strong alignment across stakeholders. Familiarity with the evolving media landscape is important, along with curiosity, sound judgment, and an eagerness to continuously learn and adapt.
You will lead media relations efforts across trade, business, entertainment, digital, and consumer outlets, including reporter outreach, pitching, briefing materials, and coverage tracking. You will also actively monitor and synthesize the evolving media and communications landscape, proactively identifying trends, opportunities, and potential reputational issues that may impact the business.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external agency partners, you will help drive seamless execution across communications initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, thoughtfully, and on deadline. You will also own major corporate communications moments, including quarterly earnings, external conferences, and other high-visibility initiatives.
