Associate Manufacturing Supervisor

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Associate Materials Supervisor to help lead and develop a growing warehouse and materials team supporting our expanding manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development while ensuring material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational priorities are successfully executed.

As our manufacturing footprint continues to grow, this position will play a critical role in supporting the company's success by helping establish scalable processes, developing team capabilities, and balancing multiple high-priority projects and operational demands. What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of materials and warehouse personnel, fostering professional growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Establish and improve processes that support inventory management, material movement, receiving, warehousing, and manufacturing operations.
• Balance multiple high-priority projects, operational demands, and competing business needs while maintaining quality and service expectations.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure materials operations effectively support company growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure individual and team success.
• Support workforce planning, onboarding, training, and skill development as the team continues to grow.
• Drive accountability through clear expectations, metrics, and follow-through on operational commitments.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and support initiatives that improve material visibility, traceability, and control.
• Help develop scalable warehouse and materials processes that can support future manufacturing expansion.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to model SEL Values to others
• Experience supporting workforce planning, employee training, scheduling, and performance management activities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and lead effectively in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience coaching, mentoring, and developing teams within manufacturing, warehouse, materials, or supply chain environments.
• Proven ability to establish, document, and improve operational processes to support efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counting, auditing, transaction management, and process compliance.
• Experience coordinating material flow and inventory activities to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Pay Range Data:

Associate Manufacturing Supervisor: $71,500-$89,640 per year

Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
