Associate Pharmacy Clerk

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume pharmacy operation by accurately packing and preparing 250-300 patient orders per day. The Associate Pharmacy Clerk works closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure timely, precise, and safe fulfillment of prescriptions, contributing directly to the quality of service patients receive.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time each day and be ready to begin production work at the scheduled 7:30 a.m. start time.
  • Follow computer prompts and system instructions to accurately pack prescription orders according to established procedures.
  • Pack 250-300 orders per day while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards.
  • Carefully verify order details and packaging to minimize errors and ensure correct items are dispensed to patients.
  • Lift packages and materials weighing up to 40 pounds approximately 30-40 times per day as part of the packing and fulfillment process.
  • Stand for extended periods, typically up to 7 hours per day, while performing packing and order fulfillment tasks.
  • Handle inventory and supplies in an organized manner to support efficient order fulfillment.
  • Use computer and data entry systems to track orders, follow workflow steps, and document completion of tasks.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure orders meet accuracy and safety standards before leaving the facility.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, a certified pharmacy technician, and other team members to meet daily production goals.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic while contributing to a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
  • Manage time effectively to complete daily workload and support the overall goal of dispensing orders correctly to patients.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing and error prevention on each order.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform order fulfillment and packaging tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience or aptitude in accuracy and quality control processes.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills to follow on-screen prompts and record order information.
  • Effective time management skills to handle a large volume of orders within the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds multiple times per day (approximately 30-40 repetitions).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, typically up to 7 hours per day.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Positive outlook and strong work ethic, with a commitment to serving patients through accurate dispensing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmacy, fulfillment, or similar production environments is beneficial.
  • Background in quality control, order fulfillment, or inventory handling is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations or healthcare environments is helpful.
  • Comfort working with computer-based workflows and guided prompts.
  • Willingness to work diligently each day to support accurate and timely patient order delivery.

Work Environment

This position is based at a pharmacy fulfillment facility in Franklin, TN, working alongside one manager, two pharmacists, one certified pharmacy technician, and one pharmacy technician. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m. and continuing until the day's work is nearly complete, usually around 2:00 p.m. The environment is production-focused, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, quality control, and timely order fulfillment. The role requires standing for most of the shift and regularly lifting packages up to 40 pounds. Work is guided by computer systems and prompts that direct packing and fulfillment tasks. The dress code allows athleisure wear or scrubs with closed-toe shoes, supporting comfort and safety in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
