Job Title Mainframe Developer Application Support Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong Application Support experience to manage enhance and support missioncritical mainframe applications The role involves development maintenance incident management and performance optimization of legacy systems within a highavailability enterprise environment preferably in the BFSI domain

Key Responsibilities

Development Maintenance

Design develop test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL JCL and DB2

Perform code enhancements bug fixes and application modernization activities

Participate in system integration and batch processing implementations

Ensure adherence to coding standards documentation and best practices

Application Support

Provide L2L3 production support for mainframebased applications

Monitor batch jobs troubleshoot failures and ensure timely resolution

Perform root cause analysis RCA and implement preventive measures

Handle incident problem and change management as per ITIL processes

Database File Management

Work with DB2 VSAM IMS databases for data processing and management

Optimize queries and ensure data integrity and performance tuning

Job Scheduling Monitoring

Manage job workflows using tools like CA7 ControlM or Autosys

Monitor system health batch cycles and job dependencies

Collaboration Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business teams developers and infrastructure teams

Participate in oncall rotations and support critical production issues

Provide regular status updates and documentation for stakeholders

Mandatory Skills

Strong expertise in COBOL JCL DB2

Handson experience with VSAM IMS

Proven experience in Production Support L2L3

Knowledge of Mainframe utilities SORT IDCAMS FileAid AbendAID

Experience with Job Scheduling tools CA7 ControlM Autosys

Familiarity with ITIL processes Incident Problem Change Management

GoodtoHave Skills

Exposure to CICS and online transaction processing

Experience in batch scheduling and performance tuning

Knowledge of mainframe modernization or migration initiatives

Familiarity with Agile DevOps methodologies

BFSI domain experience Banking Financial Services

Variable Compensation: This position includes a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual''s skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
