Stormonth Elementary School, in the Fox Point-Bayside School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered individual to serve as our Associate Principal. This position is full time; up to 215 days. The successful candidate for the Associate Principal position will support leading the building's efforts in creating an inclusive learning community, ensuring safe and positive school culture, and working positively with students and parents to promote positive student behaviors.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in instructional leadership, scheduling, attendance management, MLSS, PLCs, and promoting positive student behavior. They should demonstrate exceptional communication skills and value building relationships with students and families. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating student data and guiding educators in converting that information into actionable strategies.

Masters Degree, DPI K-12 Principal License, current teaching license, and a minimum of 3 years teaching experience required. Candidates should have a well-defined value system which focuses on the worth, dignity and uniqueness of individual students.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school.

  2. Serves as Interim Principal in the absence of the Principal

  3. Assists the Principal in the supervision of all student activities. This may include attendance at evening and weekend events to support the work of PTO, teachers, students, and caregivers.

  4. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the Health/Attendance Office for investigative follow-up actions.

  5. Promotes a culture of positive student relationships and behavior. Supervises, conducts, and oversees disciplinary procedures, ensuring due process and record-keeping of any disciplinary action.

  6. Assists in safety inspections and plans and supervises fire drills and an emergency preparedness program.

  7. Supervises and evaluates school staff as designated by the Principal.

  8. Assists the Principal in the creation of the building master schedule.

  9. Performs such tasks and assumes such responsibilities as the Principal assigns.

  10. Collaborates with special education staff, the Director of Student Services and can serve as an LEA in an IEP meeting.

  11. Collaborates with the District Leadership Team in preparing and conducting staff professional development activities.

  12. Collaborates with school teams for the purpose of working cohesively to obtain positive outcomes for intervention plans.

  13. Conducts conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions.

  14. Assist in various Human Resource tasks including: creating WECAN postings, scheduling and leading teacher and other staff interviews, and hiring new staff with the approval of the building principal.

Candidates must submit an application via WECAN, as well as the following: cover letter, resume, 3 recent letters of recommendation, transcripts, and current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license # 5051 (School Principal).

Virtual screening interviews are tentatively scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 22nd, with in-person final interviews held the morning of Friday, July 24th.
