Position Overview

Our organization is embarking on a search for a Director for the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of physicians specializing in general cardiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the fellowship program dedicated to training physicians in general cardiology.
  • Allocate approximately 50% of your time to the fellowship director responsibilities and the remaining 50% to clinical practice in general cardiology.
  • Provide leadership and strategic vision for the General Cardiology Fellowship program.
  • Develop and implement necessary policies, procedures, and curriculum modifications.
  • Design and regularly update the fellowship curriculum to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and comprehensive training in general cardiology.
  • Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to integrate the latest advancements and best practices in cardiology.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process for incoming fellows, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and evaluating candidates' qualifications and potential for success.
  • Offer supervision, mentorship, and guidance to fellows throughout their training journey.
  • Monitor fellows' progress, assess their performance, and provide constructive feedback to enhance their clinical skills, medical knowledge, and professionalism.
  • Manage educational activities such as didactic lectures, case conferences, journal clubs, and research opportunities.
  • Encourage fellows to engage in scholarly activities, including research projects, publications, and conference presentations.
  • Ensure the General Cardiology Fellowship program adheres to the accreditation standards set by relevant accrediting bodies.
  • Support faculty development initiatives by offering guidance on teaching methods, assessment strategies, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance the fellowship program's effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster collaborations and maintain relationships with other departments, institutions, and professional organizations to enrich educational and research opportunities. This includes active participation in relevant committees, conferences, and professional activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree is required.
  • Experience in managing a Cardiovascular Fellowship program.
  • Demonstrated excellent clinical skills with the ability to deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Familiarity with various diagnostic tests, including Echo, CT, and MRI scans.
  • Board Certification in Cardiology is essential.
  • Possession of an active medical license.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
