Proposed Faculty Rank Associate Professor or Professor Department 00044 - Marketing Department City Salt Lake City, UT Track Tenure Track New Position to Begin 7/1/2027 Details

The Department of Marketing at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, is seeking candidates for a tenured position beginning in Fall 2027 at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Successful candidates will be Marketing scholars who excel in research, teaching, service, and mentorship. The position should serve as a model of collaboration within the Department and School and reflect an appreciation for all areas traditionally represented in Marketing. These roles require a strong record of research, effective teaching, and collegial engagement.

Ideal qualifications for this position include:

  • PhD in Marketing.
  • Record of high-quality scholarship focused on A-level Marketing journals as evidenced by productivity and impact on the field.
  • Research interests that enhance and expand the intellectual environment of the Department and School.
  • Current or past Editor, Associate Editor, or Editorial Board appointments at one or more A-level Marketing journals.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including at the undergraduate and Master level.
  • Record of supporting PhD student development.
  • Effective leadership experience at the department, college, or university level.
  • Proven ability to engage with the business community to support students and research.
  • Strong collaboration within and across departments.
  • Professional and constructive interactions with colleagues.
  • Demonstrates leadership and contributes to departmental goals.

The Marketing Department has expanded over the last 12 years from just over 60 students to approximately 250 undergraduate majors with interests in both marketing and professional sales. The Department was among the first handful of schools to launch a successful Master of Business Analytics Program focused on machine learning and artificial intelligence, which is a top-10 TFE Times program and a central focus of the faculty. The Department hosts several research conferences annually during ski season which bring marketing scholars together to share advances in their fields and enjoy our natural environment.

The Eccles School includes 77 tenure-track faculty, 82 career-line faculty, 199 adjunct faculty, and 299 staff and is home to a range of Institutes and Centers:

Institutes

  • The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute provides independent economic, demographic, and public policy data, as well as research and analysis to support informed decision-making throughout Utah and beyond.
