    Job Description

    McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, Associate Professor that will serve as a leader in pediatric pulmonary care, education, and research, with a focus on improving outcomes for children with respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will have completed a Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship and possess proven leadership experience, including involvement in fellowship programs or equivalent academic roles.Position Key Accountabilities: Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver comprehensive clinical care to children with pulmonary disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.Perform and supervise procedures such as bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing.Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.Provide oversight and leadership of the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program.Lead or collaborate on clinical and translational research projects.Participate in multidisciplinary care teams, including NICU and PICU.Contribute to curriculum development and academic program planning.Engage in community outreach and advocacy for pediatric respiratory healthProvide patient care services in the High-Risk Clinic.Qualifications:MD or DO degree (or international equivalent).Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship.Eligible for medical licensure in the state of employment.Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.Experience in directing or co-directing fellowship programs in pediatric subspecialties.Preferred Attributes:Background in Sickle Cell, Asthma, and Home Ventilation programs.Track record of peer-reviewed publications and grant funding.Involvement in training programs, curriculum design, and academic mentorship.Commitment to health equity and serving diverse populations.Interest in developing new clinical programs or expanding existing services.
