Sterling Engineering is looking for an Associate Project Engineer in the distribution space. This opportunity is remote from home.
Job Duties:
- Support project-related tasks by assisting peers with design reviews
- Lead scope review and project kick-off meetings as needed
- Conduct peer reviews of calculations and cost estimates
- Correspond with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with process refinement initiatives
- Notify Project Engineers / Project Managers when appropriate
- Apply working knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and client expectations
- Perform intermediate CAD design corrections and updates
- Identify changes in scope of work proactively
- Support project critical path and task management
- Follow standard operating procedures and ensure timely completion of assignments
- Coordinate with permitting agencies
- Complete assignments within allowable hours
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Experience level equivalent to Senior Design Engineer capability preferred
- Prior experience in the natural gas industry required
- Strong technical comprehension and communication skills
- Ability to manage schedules, priorities, and multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Software:
- CAD experience required (intermediate design corrections)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite preferred
- Understanding of project critical path and task management tools
