Purpose/Scope
This position will be a developmental program for future Project Managers of which the necessary training and experience to fill a Project Manager position through mentoring and practical experience.â¯
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Project Management group with daily activities including, but not limited to, preparation for kickoff meetings, project cost meetings and field planning (meetings, planning sheets, checklists, maps)â¯
- Manage a light project workload under close supervision of Manager of Project Management Services and other project managers as assignedâ¯
- Assist in the coordination of field repairs with internal departments and customer as requiredâ¯
- Review revised drawings, NOC’s for scope changes in preparation for change ordersâ¯
- Visit project sites prior to erection to review status, concerns and communicate Fabcon Field process to the customerâ¯
- Attend project site meetings as necessaryâ¯
- Shadow project managers in review and negotiation of contractsâ¯
- Attend scheduling meetings and maintain project timelines as requiredâ¯
- Assist in review of specifications and coordination of submittal requirementsâ¯
- Assist in coordination of the drawing process with customers (OFA, FE and DMLO approvals)â¯
- Assist in obtaining quotes from subcontractors and the development of the subcontractor baseâ¯
- Assist in coordination of closing out projects both in collections, punch-lists and documents required by contractsâ¯
- Assist in handling 10 and out plan, tracking activities on projects to completionâ¯
- Following up on materials needed for completion and subcontractors as requiredâ¯
- Review OFA drawings for compliance with scope outlined in kickoffâ¯
- Assist in preparation of EAC’s for timely loading of bidsâ¯
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceâ¯
Other Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skillsâ¯
- Ability to work effectively in a team environmentâ¯
- Customer Service focus with excellent verbal and written communication skillsâ¯
- Good computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlookâ¯
- An understanding of construction with the ability to read and understand construction drawings and specificationsâ¯
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Businessâ¯
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in construction industryâ¯
Physical Requirements
- Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of timeâ¯
- Travel: Some travel by car and/or airplane may be requiredâ¯
Work Environment
