The Associate Project Manager supports cross-functional teams of process/business experts, engineers, and designers to deliver client projects on time, on budget and in scope, working under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager. This role is a developmental step toward full project ownership, with growing responsibility for client interaction and project execution. ResponsibilitiesEnsure assigned project tasks and work packages are delivered under budget, within schedule, within the agreed-to scope and with a great customer experienceSupport Project Managers in leading small teams consisting of various engineering disciplines and other project support personnelResponsible for maintaining appropriate project documentation in the proper locationsSupport management of client's project expectations and requirements under the direction of a Project ManagerDevelop understanding of critical path analysis, with guidance from senior project staffDevelops understanding of project financial issuesAssist with project reporting including resource utilization and project profitabilitySupport tracking of project costs, schedules, performance and safety on assigned tasksAssist with routine client communications, escalating complex issues to a Project ManagerTrack and help deliver project metricsReport into Project Managers and senior managementSupport delivery of small to mid-size, single- or limited multi-disciplinary projectsResponsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practicesAssist in preparation of proposals including scope definition, schedule development and budget estimatesProvide marketing support and assistance Perform other related duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, or Civil Engineering and three to five years of relevant working experience with working knowledge in mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceThree to five years of experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/proceduresPMP certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certificationStrong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacyAbility to manage small to mid-size projects, or components of larger projectsDeveloping proficiency in executing fast tracked projectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet project deadlinesDeveloping scope management and client management skillsEngineering consulting firm experience preferred Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through the management levelTrack record of accomplishments as a project engineer, assistant project manager, or lead engineer on industrial projects; developing capability to help direct a team of engineers, contractors, and vendorsWorking knowledge of excel including macrosSelf-starter with strong attention to detailAbility to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of completionDeveloping ability to support business development opportunitiesPossess and able to maintain a valid driver's licenseComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project requiredPreferred Certifications and skills:Experience in working with food manufacturing, life sciences, bioprocess and/or petrochemical companies, construction of large industrial plants, or power stations will be advantageousWorking Conditions:Office, plant, or client site environment*Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of timeAbility to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditionsMay work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as neededTravel and/or field experience required*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers.EAD is an Equal Opportunity Employer
