This position is open to internal applicants only. Candidates for the Associate Provost position must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor at Molloy.

The Associate Provost is a senior leadership role within the Division of Academic Affairs, reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. This position provides strategic oversight of key academic functions that are essential to the success of both the division and Molloy University. The Associate Provost supports shared governance, collaborates with institutional leaders to advance major university initiatives, and assists with high-level communications. Working closely with deans, the Assistant Provost and campus partners, including facilities, the Associate Provost helps resolve space and operational challenges and represents the Provost at meetings as needed. The role requires strong research, project management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate sensitive situations, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Graduate Studies and Student Success and Assessment to support initiatives and assure an excellent student experience
  • Work collaboratively across the division and with facilities on space allocation and renovation requests
  • Collaborate with key leaders to develop, revise, implement and administer campus-wide policies, plans and programs
  • Research, draft materials and provide guidance to assist in the development of briefs, policy documents and other materials as needed
  • Work closely with the Provost on academic issues, initiatives and governance
  • The Associate Provost will assist with budget development and oversight for areas of supervision but also as assigned
  • The Associate Provost is first, and foremost, someone who collaborates with others to achieve outcomes that improves Molloy. Listening, seeking understanding, and working iteratively to achieve solutions will be key to being successful. Direct supervision of units and budgets will be considered
  • Understanding of shared governance, faculty policies and procedures, interest in supporting academic excellent. The Associate Provost is a partner with other academic leaders and someone who seeks to solve problems via consultation and collaboration
  • The Associate Provost must collaborate across the division and seek to be seen as someone who can work alongside others to improve Molloy. The Associate Provost works with internal constituents including faculty, staff, students and fellow academic administrators and occasionally externally with students, parents, and donors
  • The Associate Provost will be working on policies, major initiatives, and engaging in planning in collaboration with the academic affairs leadership
  • The Associate Provost will work on projects spanning the division that will require a deep understanding of faculty, a willingness to learn about other disciplines and schools, and engaging in institutional initiatives assigned to the division.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • The Associate Provost must be a current Associate or Full Professor at Molloy.
  • Earned Doctoral Degree, required.

Salary Information

When determining the salary for this position, Molloy University considers factors such as job knowledge, skills, experience, capacity for complex work, and internal and external equity. The hiring range for this position is $145,000 to $160,000, reflecting the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting. This salary range is broad enough to recognize competencies ranging from entry level to expert.

The Provost, in consultation with Human Resources, assesses candidates based on their qualifications relative to job requirements, the comparability of their current responsibilities, and alignment with internal peers in similar roles.
