Associate, Real Estate

We have been engaged to support a search for our client, a private real estate investment firm. They are seeking an Associate to support their Capital Markets and Investor Relations team. This person will own oversight of assigned markets, run the team's core reporting and analytical work, and help produce investor-facing materials. The successful candidate is ready to move beyond analysis and excited about the opportunity to have proximity to senior leadership as well as direct portfolio exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead business plan reviews and investment oversight for your assigned markets and investments.
• Track performance, liquidity, distributions, financing, valuation, capital needs, and any emerging risks or opportunities.
• Partner with Asset Management and other internal teams to translate property-level performance into investment-level conclusions and flag issues that require senior attention.
• Own the day-to-day reporting and analytical workflow, keep deadlines on track, and review analyst work for accuracy and investment relevance.
• Maintain and help build out the team's portfolio, valuation, and reporting tools.
• Run ad hoc analysis to support portfolio and capital decisions.
• Draft investment and investor materials, including firm updates, investor memos, and presentations.
• Pull together financial analysis, operating data, and supporting exhibits into clear, decision-ready write-ups.
• Help prepare for investor meetings, including valuation analyses, portfolio analyses, and briefing materials.
• Support the quarterly distribution process and the team's distribution infrastructure.
• Support equity raises on new deals, capital calls, investor buyouts, dispositions, and other major equity transactions as they arise.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2 years of experience in real estate finance, real estate investment, asset management, debt underwriting, or capital markets.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (ability to manipulate large data sets, pivot tables, SUMIFS, waterfalls).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Prior experience in institutional multifamily real estate.
• Solid grasp of real estate investment fundamentals: cash flow forecasting, valuation, IRR and equity multiple analysis, debt structures, and investment waterfalls.
• Proven ability to pinpoint the right business question, choose the right analysis, and reach clear conclusions or recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once.
• Able to review the work of junior team members and give clear, direct feedback.
