Position Description

Jasper Central is the department at Manhattan University that brings together the essential services of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts / Bursar in one convenient location on campus to provide students with a seamless and efficient experience.

The Associate Registrar provides leadership for the University's degree audit, graduation certification, transcript evaluation, and academic records functions. Reporting to the University Registrar, this position ensures the integrity of academic records while overseeing processes that support timely degree completion and compliance with institutional academic policies.

Serving as a liaison to academic schools, faculty, and advisors on matters related to graduation eligibility, transfer credit, and curriculum requirements, the Associate Registrar works collaboratively to resolve complex student records issues, improve operational processes, and maintain the accuracy of the University's academic records.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Job Responsibilities

Degree Audit Administration:

  • Review complex degree audit exceptions and collaborate with academic departments to resolve curriculum-related issues.
  • Monitor degree audit processes to ensure consistent application of academic policies.

Graduation Certification:

  • Oversee the review and certification of undergraduate and graduate degree candidates.
  • Ensure graduation eligibility is evaluated accurately and in accordance with University academic requirements.

Academic Records Management:

  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and security of student academic records in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, including FERPA.
  • Ensure academic record maintenance supports institutional reporting and student success initiatives.

Policy and Process Management:

  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures governing degree audits, graduation certification, transfer credit evaluation, and academic record maintenance.

Collaboration and Student Support:

  • Serve as a resource for academic advisors, department chairs, deans, and other University offices regarding graduation requirements, degree audits, and complex student record issues.
  • Work collaboratively across academic and administrative units to support timely student progression and degree completion.
  • Represent the Office of the Registrar on University committees and initiatives related to academic policy, curriculum implementation, and student success.

Leadership:

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to Registrar staff responsible for degree audits, graduation processing, and academic records.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous process improvement within the Office of the Registrar.
  • Assist the University Registrar with strategic planning, policy implementation, and operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Five + years of progressively responsible experience in a college or university registrar's office or a related academic administration environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with degree audits, graduation certification, transfer credit evaluation, and academic records management.
  • Working knowledge of student information systems and reporting tools, preferably Banner and Degree Works.
  • Thorough understanding of academic regulations, curriculum structures, and FERPA requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, academic leadership, and administrative partners.
  • Experience supervising professional staff and managing operational processes in a higher education setting.
