Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Associate Research Specialist, under supervision, conducts routine laboratory research procedures. Follows protocol to perform experiments. Tabulates data and may assist with analysis. Performs routine equipment maintenance and orders supplies. May provide instruction to support personnel.

 

The team is responsible for Laboratory Research in Regenerative Ophthalmology and Cellular Reprogramming. This role requires qualified personnel to perform research studies on photoreceptors cell transplantation in laboratory animal models as indicated in funded grant.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Experience working in a laboratory environment required; Preferred 1+ years experience performing laboratory research.

 

Applicants should have experience in: Bacterial cell culture, Mammalian cell culture, PCR, Restriction Enzyme Digestion, Plasmid DNA Purification, Immunofluorescence Staining, Western Blot, In Vitro Mutagenesis, Long-Term Killing Assay, ELISA, Flow Cytometry (FACS), Dual Luciferase Assay, Transfection, Transformation, Plasmid DNA amplification, Mice Handling, Euthanasia Competency, Intraperitoneal Injection, Mice Necropsy, Cellular Reprogramming, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field required. Master of Science in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from accredited university preferred.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
