Associate Scientist - Oral Solid Dosage Formulation

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to support oral solid dosage formulation development at the client's facility in New Brunswick, NJ. This hands-on position involves laboratory and pilot plant activities, formulation studies, material characterization, and product testing.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of oral formulations through experimental studies, batch processing, data analysis, and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant activities supporting oral solid dosage formulation development;
• Perform oral product batch processing, material characterization, and formulation testing;
• Support formulation development involving blending, granulation, compression, and encapsulation;
• Design and execute experimental formulation studies;
• Analyze experimental results and support formulation and process optimization;
• Apply design of experiments (DOE) approaches and technical problem-solving to formulation development.

The position involves approximately 80%–90% laboratory and/or manufacturing work and 10%–20% office work.

Position details:

• Hourly rate: $30.60–$35.60;
• Contract length: 12 months with possible extension;
• Location: New Brunswick, NJ;
• Work arrangement: 100% onsite;
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, normal business hours;
• Maximum hours: 40 hours per week;
• W-2 contract position;
• No C2C options;
• No visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, science, engineering, or a related discipline; an associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience;
• Direct hands-on experience in oral solid dosage formulation development and processing;
• Experience with oral product processing techniques such as blending, granulation, compression, or encapsulation;
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical formulation development laboratory or pilot plant environment;
• Ability to execute formulation studies, analyze results, and support formulation or process optimization;
• Strong technical problem-solving, logical thinking, and communication skills;
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in science or engineering;
• Background in biologics;
• Experience with oral formulation preparation and testing techniques;
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis software;
• Experience with data trending and tracking.
