Our client is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist in the field of molecular biology to join the NGS wet-lab team at a state-of-the-art research facility in South San Francisco. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and work with advanced platforms for RNA analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic research team to execute quantitative experiments, ensure high-quality data generation, and maintain the integrity of laboratory processes. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform nucleic acid isolation and quality control assessments, including quantitative PCR, NGS library construction, and automation of RNA-seq workflows.
  • Operate high-throughput sequencers, sample quality control instruments, and automated liquid handlers, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
  • Organize samples and projects systematically, documenting all experimental procedures with precision.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize protocols, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the wet-lab environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, reagents, and equipment conditions to ensure reproducibility and compliance with laboratory standards.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field; or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree with 4+ years of experience; or a High school diploma/GED with 6+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and NGS library preparation.
  • Experience with automation equipment, high-throughput sequencers, and laboratory information management systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with computational data analysis, gene perturbation techniques, and laboratory automation is a plus.
