Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Surgical Technician to support surgical procedures in a patient-focused healthcare environment. This full-time position works 12-hour day shifts and provides scrub support for surgical patients across the lifespan, including infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
The Surgical Technician works closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team to help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scrub technologist duties during surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room, sterile field, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Support surgical team members throughout operative cases while maintaining sterile technique.
- Assist with procedures involving patients ranging from infancy through geriatric age groups.
- Anticipate procedural needs and ensure required instruments and supplies are readily available.
- Follow established infection-prevention, patient-safety, and perioperative protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nursing staff, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the surgical team.
- Contribute to efficient room turnover and continuity of patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Ability to perform surgical scrub responsibilities in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) upon hire.
- At least 1 year of recent experience working as a Surgical Scrub Technician in a surgical setting.
