POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Associate Surgical Technicianyour roles and responsibilities will include:
Position Summary
The Associate Surgical Technician performs scrub technologist duties for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The technician works with the surgical team to help ensure procedures are performed safely and efficiently.
The role involves supporting surgical interventions for patients across all age groups, including:
  • Infant
  • Pediatric
  • Adolescent
  • Adult
  • Geriatric
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Surgical Scrub Technician / Scrub Technologist duties during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures.
  • Handle and maintain surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Follow established surgical, infection-control, and patient-safety procedures.
  • Support surgical care for patients across all age groups.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Associate Surgical Technician who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Associate Surgical Technician would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician in a surgical setting.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
  • Associate s degree.
Preferred Qualification
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
