What You'll Be Doing
As a Systems Engineer, you will support the development, testing, and evaluation of advanced electro-mechanical products while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.
Laboratory Testing & Data Collection
- Execute test protocols and laboratory procedures according to established guidelines.
- Conduct hands-on testing of electro-mechanical systems and components.
- Gather, organize, and analyze test data to support engineering assessments.
- Monitor testing activities to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Participate in design reviews and technical team discussions.
- Assist with concept development, system evaluations, and performance assessments.
- Support reliability testing and analysis of system interactions.
- Contribute to manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying product and process issues through structured analysis.
- Support root cause investigations and recommend potential engineering solutions.
- Evaluate technical data and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Apply engineering principles and standard practices to projects of moderate scope.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering summaries.
- Present test results and findings to engineering teams.
- Research technical literature and industry information to support project activities.
- Support documentation efforts while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
- Follow established engineering processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Work effectively under guidance while building technical expertise.
- Exercise sound judgment within defined engineering procedures.
- Contribute innovative ideas to improve workflows and processes.
- Participate in cross-functional technical team activities.
- Support intellectual property and innovation initiatives, including the development of patentable concepts when applicable.
- Perform additional engineering-related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Preferred degree disciplines include:
- Systems Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Related Engineering Fields
- 0-3 years of professional engineering experience.
- Relevant internships, co-op experience, laboratory work, or project experience are highly desirable.
- Exposure to the medical device, healthcare, or regulated product industries is a plus.
- Understanding of basic engineering principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical devices and systems.
- Ability to interpret and follow written procedures and technical instructions.
- Experience researching technical literature and engineering resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Energetic, inquisitive, and eager to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
