The Associate Tax Counsel will provide tax advisory support across the firm's investment platforms, fund structures, and corporate entities while helping manage tax risk, compliance, and strategic planning initiatives.
Description
- Advise on U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax matters affecting investment funds and management company operations.
- Support the structuring of investments, financings, acquisitions, and other complex transactions from a tax perspective.
- Review and negotiate tax provisions within investment, financing, and fund documentation.
- Partner with legal, finance, compliance, and investor relations teams regarding tax implications of business activities.
- Assist with fund formation, restructuring, and ongoing tax planning initiatives.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel.
- Monitor tax regulatory developments and assess their impact on the firm's operations and investment strategies.
- Support tax reporting processes and investor-related tax matters, including fund distributions and tax disclosures.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.

Profile
A successful Associate Tax Counsel should have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed attorney in good standing.
- Approximately 3-7 years of relevant tax law experience gained at a leading law firm, asset manager, private equity firm, hedge fund, or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, investment funds, and alternative asset management structures.
- Experience advising on complex transactional and fund-related tax matters.
- Familiarity with international tax considerations and cross-border investment structures is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.
Job Offer
- Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $220,000, dependent on experience, with discretionary bonus
