    The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Syracuse University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Associate Teaching Professor position in Speech-Language Pathology.

    The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Syracuse University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track SLP Clinic Director/ Associate Teaching Professor. The clinic director will oversee the on-campus Gebbie Speech-Language Clinic and provide leadership for the clinical education program within the department. This is a full-time, 12 month non-tenure-track appointment beginning during the 2026-27 academic year in a vibrant, research-oriented academic program offering BS, MS, accelerated BS/MS, AuD, AuD/PhD, and PhD degrees. The teaching responsibilities associated with this appointment include the equivalent of six credits of didactic instruction per academic year. Additionally, clinical instruction/supervision in the Gebbie Clinic, coordination of weekly Clinic Seminar, and coordination of Guided Clinical Observations is required. The position combines teaching, clinical administration, student supervision, and ongoing program development within a well-established, dynamic and innovative clinical training environment.

    Compensation is nationally competitive, and the position carries full eligibility for promotion.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising speech-language pathology (SLP) students.
    • Prefer Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, but will consider Master's degree or SLPD with extensive experience in clinical supervision.
    • ASHA CCC-SLP and eligibility for New York State License required.
    • Undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching experience preferred.

    Job Specific Qualifications

    • Demonstrated clinical expertise with clients with speech, language or swallowing disorders
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as an SLP
    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, SLPD, or PhD/EdD
    • Extensive experience in clinical supervision
    • ASHA CCC-SLP and eligibility for New York State License

    Responsibilities

    • Direct the operations of the Gebbie Speech and Language Clinics including overseeing the financial operations of the clinic; ensuring adequate supervision and coverage of all clinical activities; coordinating in-house clinical placements of all students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate clinical practicum; and managing externship placements for all students enrolled in the Speech-Language Pathology M.S. program
    • Develop and oversee clinical policies and procedures
    • Develop new clinical programs and community outreach
    • Market clinical services provided at the clinic
    • Manage clinic budget in collaboration with the department chair and the Audiology Clinic Director
    • Supervise clinical faculty and clinic administrative staff
    • Foster collaboration within the department, the university and the community
    • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in appropriate areas
    • Coordinate weekly Clinic Seminar and Guided Clinical Observations
    • Participate in academic advising
    • Serve on departmental and college committees.
    • Manage in-house clinical assignments for students and clinical faculty
    • Support departmental accreditation efforts through data collection, assessment, reporting
    • Contribute to strategic planning for clinical education and community engagement
    • Coordinate professional development opportunities
