Associate Veterinarian

Key Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat illnesses and injuries in companion animals, primarily dogs and cats
• Provide medical, surgical, preventive, and dental care services
• Administer vaccinations and educate clients on wellness and preventive care
• Collaborate with veterinary colleagues and referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care
• Partner with hospital leadership to maintain high standards of patient care and hospital operations
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment plans
• Participate in continuing education, training, and professional development opportunities
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture
• Effectively prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Internship training preferred, but not required
• Eligible to obtain a Connecticut State Veterinary License
• Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills
