Job Summary

The Associate Vice President of Student Successprovides visionary and strategic leadership for the successful facilitation and delivery of a comprehensive student success strategy designed to improve student success. The AVP has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, providing leadership, management and supervision for student success programs and personnel, student financial aid, recruiting and retention strategies, student housing, testing, accessibility services and enrollment management practices. The Associate Vice President of Student Success also responds to student needs, works collaboratively with academic departments, and fosters institutional success. This is a full-time position that reports to the Provost and Vice President for Student and Academic Success.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for all student services, student development, and enrollment management functions, including admissions, advising, counseling, recruitment, retention, registration, student activities, accessibility services, grants, and other student support programs
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates student programs and services to ensure quality and effectiveness
  • Works collaboratively with academic departments to facilitate student success
  • Builds partnerships with public and private organizations and helps establish strategic and operational goals
  • Leads student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives
  • Oversees student conduct and due process procedures, including policy development, investigations, and hearings
  • Analyzes enrollment and retention data and prepares reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensures student services are focused on improving enrollment, persistence, graduation, transfer, and employment outcomes
  • Oversees compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure equitable access to services and programs
  • Manages budgets and resources for student services programs and evaluates program effectiveness and sustainability
  • Supports college activities and special events through participation and attendance
  • Serves as a positive representative of the College and responds to issues as needed, including outside normal business hours
  • Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information
  • Manages student services grants as assigned
  • Complies with College policies and procedures
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in education, counseling, a teaching discipline aligned with college's instructional program, or a closely related field
  • Five (5) years' experience supervising one or more areas of student services
  • Valid driver's license

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements:

This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday; 40 hours per week
