Position: Associate Wealth Advisor

Location: Greenwich, CT

Status: Full time, in office

Compensation: $120K-$140K

We are a boutique, Fairfield County-based fiduciary Wealth Management firm, independently operated and custodied through Raymond James. We help clients make informed financial decisions through comprehensive planning and investment management, working closely with them on retirement planning, investments, cash flow, and long-term financial goals, with an emphasis on practical advice, strong relationships, and a high level of personal service. The Associate Wealth Advisor position is focused on supporting the lead advisor with a secondary responsibility of generating revenue. This position is responsible for the retention of existing client relationships as well as the development of new client connections.

The Associate Wealth Advisor opportunity offers strong long term growth potential, including opportunities for additional compensation tied to new revenue generation and a potential future path toward equity participation in the firm.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help individuals meet their unique financial needs and objectives on an ongoing basis:
  • Establish and define the client-planner relationship.
  • Gather data, including goals.
  • Analyze and evaluate financial status.
  • Develop and present financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives.
  • Implement financial planning recommendations.
  • Monitor the financial planning recommendations.
  • Analyze the income, assets, expenses, and liabilities of clients as requested and at least once annually to review and update their financial situation and ensure comprehensive goals and objectives are being met.
  • Recommend plans and products to help clients achieve their goals; identify appropriate investment and insurance solutions: estate issues; tax considerations; retirement planning or business planning objectives.
  • Comply with all FINRA/SEC/Raymond James compliance regulations; satisfy continuing education requirements.

Provide personal client service such as but not exclusive to:

  • Work effectively with affiliated professionals who also serve as advisors to clients.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with other in-house professionals and strategic alliances; when necessary, refer clients to strategic allies, such as attorneys, to ensure their needs are met.
  • Respond to questions and concerns of clients.
  • Schedule and plan client meetings using the contact management system.
  • Rebalance client portfolios based on planner’s criteria and using appropriate tools.
  • Remain up to date on industry developments, service, and product enhancements; regulatory issues; client needs or wants; and so forth.
  • Participate in the firm’s investment committee, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
  • Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 or 66 licenses
  • Experience working in small office environments highly desirable
  • Ability to convey complex concepts simply
  • Strong client facing experience in Wealth Management
  • Excellent knowledge and communication of financial planning concepts and terminology
  • Excellent knowledge of products such as mutual funds, stocks, bonds, insurances, and annuities
  • Comfort with estate planning concepts, identifying client needs, and referring appropriately to estate attorneys and CPAs, while maintaining those relationships as key centers of influence
  • Experience handling tax-related questions and working closely with tax professionals on behalf of clients.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including MS Office Suite (particularly Excel), Envestnet, Redtail, GPM (MoneyGuidePro white labeled for Raymond James), etc.
