ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER

Annual Starting Salary Range $121,668 up to $137,532

This position is a senior manager responsible for the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protections executive level staff and department functions; serves as the subject matter expert on the City of Chicago's business license database, online business license application and other technology platforms related to business licensing and regulation and performs other related duties as required.

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications
Nine (9) years of experience related to the responsibilities of the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position,
OR
Graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree in a field related to the duties performed, including seven (7) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position,
OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor''s degree in a field related to the duties performed, including five (5) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position,
OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher in a field related to the duties performed, including four (4) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or skills assessment as part of the interview.
