We are looking for an experienced asst. cook minimum of 2 years in Mexican food to help prepare meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations and company standards. The asst. cook’s responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of food orders, organizing workstations. You should also be able to ensure that the kitchen, refrigerators, and storerooms are kept clean and tidy. This position will be part-time with the opportunity for advancement to full time and must be available to work Tuesday to Sunday (3pm-11:00pm). We are seeking candidates who are interested in long-term employment and are eager to learn and grow with the company.
Requirements:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or Spanish Speaking) to be able to communicate with the Chef/Founder.
- Honest, Responsible, Dependable, Reliable and Punctual.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Knowledge of Mexican Food.
- Culinary Skills a plus.
- Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen min. 2 yrs. is preferred.
- The ability to follow directions.
- The ability to work in a team.
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- The ability to lift heavy items.
- Good communication skills.
