We're seeking an experienced, strategic Assistant Director of Radiology to partner with our Department Administrator in leading one of Brooklyn's most comprehensive radiology operations. This is a senior leadership opportunity with broad responsibility across X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Clerical Services.
Responsibilities:Assist the Department Administrator in planning, directing, and coordinating all administrative functions including budgets, financial reconciliation, and policy review
• Directly oversee day-to-day operations of X-ray and Ultrasound divisions; ensure operational success across CT, MRI, and Mammography
• Lead the Management-Focused Improvement program — collecting and analyzing data to optimize staffing patterns, productivity, and workflow across all Radiology areas
• Assist in developing and managing capital and operating budgets; recommend equipment purchases to advance technology and departmental efficiency
• Select, hire, supervise, and evaluate Radiology Managers and participate in recruiting technical and ancillary staff
• Supervise patient flow and implement process improvements for efficiency and QC
• Partner with radiologists, radiation safety officer and managers to ensure image quality standards are met in accordance with ACR and BRH guidelines
• Coordinate vacation/holiday scheduling, overtime approvals, attendance records, and payroll
• Oversee equipment quality control and preventive maintenance programs
• Represent the department on key hospital committees including Safety, Emergency Preparedness, ICU, and Imaging
• Develop relationships with supply and equipment vendors to maintain high quality service and limit modality down-time.
Qualifications:• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program; ARRT certification required
• Current NYS license as a Registered Radiologic Technologist required
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed technologist in a medium-sized hospital, including 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
