Job Description

Position Start: FY27BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE Under general direction of the Principal, assists with the administration and coordination of the school and all related activities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in development and support of the Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and assumes leadership of the school in the absence of the principalRelates to students with mutual respect while implementing the Code of Conduct and Progressive Discipline PlanSupervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, with follow-up student/parent contact when necessaryServes on specific educational committees with students, parents and/or staff, in order to continually improve learning experiences for students and enhance home/school communicationsResearches alternative methods and procedures which facilitate the achievement of program goalsSupports implementation of School Safety Plan in cooperation with staff and public safety agenciesCoordinates with principal the administrative responsibility for the student activity programsArticulates the school and district's guidelines, procedures, and policies to all stakeholders as appropriateArticulates federal and state laws or requirements about education to all stakeholders as appropriateWorks with the principal in facilitating changes as neededCommunicates effectively with the business and residential community and participates in civic activitiesMaintains a commitment to ongoing support of and participation in District and site professional growth programsDemonstrates positive attitude toward the position and remains a flexible and innovative team builderHas knowledge of current practices in curriculum and organizationHas knowledge of local policies, state and federal laws relating to minorsProvides parent education opportunitiesMonitors classrooms to evaluate instructional as well as classroom management practicesProficient with implementation and applications of technologyAssists in screening, selecting, assigning, supervising and evaluating performance of certified and classified staff membersAssists in the responsibility of the operational effectiveness of the school including planning, supervising, and directing the business operation of the school in accordance with District policy and proceduresAssist in the site budget planning process and local school financial protocols Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may request, including assignments involving extra-curricular activities EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS Holds or is eligible for a valid Georgia Leadership Certificate and minimum of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.EXPERIENCESuccessful teaching and/or leadership experience
