Job Summary
The Department of Dance invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Dance with a focus on Jazz Dance forms beginning July 1, 2026 and continuing through the 2026-2027 academic year. This position requires a professional artist with experience in performing, teaching, creative activity, and scholarship to be successful in a full time appointment.
Candidates should expect to work closely with undergraduate and graduate students and be able to communicate effectively within various platforms and modalities. Principal responsibilities include teaching, staging or choreographing works, oversight of graduate thesis research, and serving on departmental and university-wide committees. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching within a small collaborative environment and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and creative activity with undergraduates..
