    Description

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
    • Minimum of three-five years of coordinating pre-season operations.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
    • Experience with travel logistics in athletics
    • Experience serving as an academic liaison

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution
    • Recruitment Experience
    • Six years of experience as a Pitcher’s Coach
    • Eight years of experience coaching at the college level

    • Strong understanding of softball fundamentals and advanced game strategy.
    • Effective leadership and team-building skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Ability to recruit and evaluate talent.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Commitment to academic achievement and student development.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to demonstrate softball skills during practices.
    • Ability to stand, walk, throw, lift, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to travel extensively by automobile and commercial airline.

    Work Environment

    This position operates in athletic facilities, offices, and outdoor competition venues. Frequent travel is required, including overnight travel for recruitment and team competition.

    The home of the largest Naval Base in the world, Norfolk, is 1 of 7 cities that make up what is referred to as the Hampton Roads Region, an area that includes Virginia Beach and Colonial Williamsburg. Norfolk has big-city amenities, attractions of arts and culture, and cuisines of the Eastern Seaboard. There are numerous accessible parks, riverfronts, lakes, festivals, and beaches: all favorable for weekend getaways and an easy commute to NSU.

    The maximum salary for this position is $45,000.00.
