PVCC is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Astronomy courses with a commitment to the colleges learning-centered philosophy.

The ideal candidate will engage students through creative teaching methods, effective use of instructional technologies, and assessment-driven strategies that promote learning.

Courses may be delivered in a traditional classroom, hybrid format, or fully online. Prepare and deliver college-level in-person, online, and/or hybrid Astronomy classes in accordance with official course descriptions.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in exploring new ways to improve instruction and promote student learning. • Develop syllabi and course materials. • Evaluate student learning through exams, assignments, and other assessments. • Maintain accurate and timely course grades.

Division Initiatives and Professional Development:

Participate in division initiatives. Participate in professional development focused on effective instruction and student learning.

Student Support and Communication:

Provide support and guidance to students in a timely way. Attend division meetings and respond promptly to job-related communications.

Work Environment:

Maintain clean, organized, and shared spaces.
