Description

ASU FIDM in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University seeks a full-time 9-month (academic year) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Fashion Merchandising beginning in Fall 2026. This position includes undergraduate teaching, research and service responsibilities. This position is located on the Phoenix campus and will teach in person, with the ability to teach in online and hybrid environments desired.

Position Description and Essential Functions

This position includes essential functions of teaching and mentoring students in fashion merchandising, developing new courses based on individual strengths and service according to departmental needs. The successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research agenda in fashion merchandising. Areas of emphasis may include: Omnichannel merchandising, digital commerce, retail and consumer analytics, technology applications in fashion merchandising, or visual merchandising.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching with the ability to develop and instruct a variety of in-person and online course offerings. The successful candidate will teach and mentor undergraduate students based on department needs including developing new courses related to their area of expertise. Additional responsibilities include service to ASU FIDM, Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, and ASU.
