Job Description
Title: At-Risk Coordinator
Reports to: Building Principal
Job Objective: To assist students who have been identified as needing additional services and support for academic, emotional, and/or social needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Ohio Department of Education teaching licensure for grades 7-12. Five (5) years prior work experience within and/or management of an at-risk program preferred, prior work experience with the methodology of instruction of at-risk students, prior work experience with drug/alcohol counseling and awareness programs, ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and district personnel.
Essential Functions:
Coordinates student referral process with appropriate school administrator. Determines and develops individualized plan of action.
Coordinates academic management, teaches skills to improve executive functioning, determines a plan for student success, improves communication between students and adults.
Facilitates student attendance processes and monitors the Board's attendance policies.
Supports students social emotional needs, mental health welfare, assists with substance abuse prevention, and serves as security liaison.
Exemplifies professionalism. Fosters goodwill to enhance the district's public image.
Maintains open/effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource.
Pursues opportunities to enhance personal performance.
Keeps informed about workplace safety procedures. Initiates action to manage risks.
Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
Working Conditions:

Encounters with angry, rude and/or unpleasant individuals.
Exposure to airborne particulates, chemicals, combustible materials, electrical hazards, equipment vibrations, noise, moving mechanical parts, odors and/or slippery/uneven surfaces.
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and/or communicable diseases.
Exposure to weather conditions and/or temperature extremes.
Extensive standing/sitting. Frequent balancing, bending, climbing, crouching, kneeling, or reaching.
Operating and/or riding in a vehicle. Working in proximity to vehicular traffic.
Performing difficult tasks that require dexterity, physical strength and stamina.
Traveling to meetings and work assignments.
Working at heights, in confined spaces and/or under diminished lighting.
