Assists in the monitoring of contract compliance to performance and quality standards using onsite visits, staff reports and other assessment methods;
Although not a direct supervisor, may provide occasional supervision of independent contractors, and interns;
Assists in the operations of the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, and the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center;
Assists in the administration of contract operations of the aquatic center;
Physically participates in the construction and maintenance of park, recreation, beautification areas, rights-of-ways, and public grounds;
Assists in the maintenance and repair of all recreation equipment, tools, and supplies;
Assists in turf maintenance programs for a high-quality sports complex, parks and beautification areas;
Performs a wide range of duties associated with the maintenance and operation of facilities;
Works as a lead worker or crew foreman as assigned. Responsible for the work of small crews involved in Recreation operations;
Assists other divisions and departments during emergencies and is on-call to respond.
Assists in maintenance of tools, equipment and facilities. Knowledgeable in care and use of equipment;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
Knowledge of principles and practices associated with recreation and special event programming, marketing, maintenance and operations of parks, and recreation facilities.

Abilities
• Ability to withstand exposure to variable weather conditions and to do work that is generally out of doors with long and varied hours such as days, nights, weekends and holidays. • Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift. • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, operate equipment up to fifty percent of the day, and where noise and interruptions prevail. • May be required to move tables, chairs, cabinets, equipment, supplies, etc. to maximum of 50 pounds. • Must be able to work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment. • Requires alertness, precision, memory, concentration, judgement, reasoning, patience, problem solving, and imagination. • Must be quality minded safety conscious, people and service oriented, a team player and self-starter.
